HubSpot Faces Cyberattack, Approximately 50 Customer Accounts Breached

HubSpot, the enterprise software vendor, has said that it is actively investigating and blocking attempts by threat actors to hack into customer accounts. It further claimed that at least 50 HubSpot targets have been breached.
In its notice posted online, the company said it identified a security incident on June 22 in which threat actors tried to gain unauthorized access to a limited number of customer accounts. It also said, “While our investigation is still underway, we believe, based on our initial assessment, that the bad actors were able to gain unauthorized access to less than 50 HubSpot accounts.”
The company, which sells various software products for marketing and sales teams, said hackers continued to try to gain unauthorized access to a limited number of customer accounts. However, according to HubSpot, there were no more new instances of unauthorized access as of 1600 ET, June 28.
“As of 4:00 PM ET, June 28, we have seen no new instances of unauthorized access in the last 24 hours, and we have contacted all impacted customers at this time,” HubSpot said.

According to Alyssa Robinson, chief information security officer, HubSpot’s statement to TechCrunch, the company has contacted the affected customers and taken the necessary steps to revoke hackers’ access to customer data.
This is not the first time HubSpot has encountered threat actors targeting its customer accounts. In 2022, the company said a “bad actor” hacked into an employee account and exported contact data from HubSpot accounts.
The company hasn’t divulged further details about the threat actors or their demands.
