RingCentral gets a new Chief People Officer while Core BTS and Windstream announce new board members. Find out more in our weekly round-up.  

Gunjan Aggarwal Set to Join RingCentral

RingCentral has found its new Chief People Officer in Gunjan AggarwalOpens a new window . The company appointed Aggarwal to head its talent acquisition and development function and improve organization effectiveness, global inclusion and diversity. Anand Eswaran, President and Chief Operating Officer at RingCentral said, “We’re excited Gunjan is joining us to accelerate our progress, attract, retain, empower and coach great talent; and evolve a culture that delivers the best outcomes for our people, our customers, partners, shareholders and communities.”

Prior to joining RingCentral, Aggarwal served as the EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at RELX Group in London. She also headed Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) and Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) at Ericsson before serving as VP of People and Culture. Her experience as the HR Manager at Novartis and Unilever, followed by a short stint as the Advisor to the Governor (California) earned her diverse experience in people management.

Aggrawal said, “I have always been focused on fostering strong cultures that are diverse and all inclusive. I see tremendous opportunities at RingCentral to continue to develop the company as both a destination for top talent and a great place to work.”

Virginia Gambale Takes Her Seat at the Core BTS Board

Core BTS, a tech solutions provider for cloud transformation, networking, collaboration, security and data center infrastructure appointed Virginia GambaleOpens a new window as a board member. 

Gambale is currently a board member of Nutnix, JetBlue Airways, Virtu Financial, First Derivatives, and Regis Corporation. Gambale, who has served as the board member of over 20 public and private organizations, said, “Core is transforming businesses through its diverse service offerings, and I’m honored to be joining the board at this stage of the organization’s growth.” She is also involved as the Adjunct Faculty Member for Masters in Technology Management program at Columbia University, and is the Managing Partner of Azimuth Partners.

A technologist at heart, her prior work experience includes stints at Merrill Lynch, Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank, and Marsh & McLennan. Paul Lidsky, Core BTS CEO and Board Chairman said, “We believe her strong experience, especially in growing technology businesses, will be extremely valuable as Core continues to expand its services and increase its market share.”

A Restructured Windstream Appoints New Board Members

As Windstream re-emerges from bankruptcy with a plan for restructuring, it has appointed nine new board of directors. New leadership will be continued to be headed by Tony ThomasOpens a new window who will take up the CEO role as well as a seat at the board of directors table. Thomas said, “I am extremely honored to continue serving as president and CEO of this incredible organization. We will emerge from restructuring with a strong balance sheet and access to approximately $2 billion in new capital to expand 1 Gig broadband service to rural America and help businesses succeed in the digital transformation.”

Windstream paid off $4 billion in corporate debt and is reorganizing its corporate structure after over a year of negotiations. As part of the restructuring, the Little Rock-based provider of network communications and technology solutions is including some of its creditors to its board table.
